Sammy’s Buy-Rite Liquors, in collaboration with the Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department, will host the 16th-annual Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department Beer and Wine Tasting at the William J. Pitkin Community Center in Wethersfield on March 28. Representatives from local distributors and suppliers, along with Fire Department volunteers, will pour a variety of fine wine, spirits and craft beer selections for guests. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Wethersfield Volunteer Firefighter’s Association Scholarship Fund.
Monsieur Touton Selection, Ltd. will host a spring portfolio tasting for accounts and trade professionals at BAR in New Haven on April 3. During the walkaround tasting, guests will have the opportunity to taste 300 products, including best sellers and hidden gems from Monsieur Touton’s portfolio to pair with BAR’s award winning pizza. This event is for trade and accounts only.
The 8th Annual Sun Whiskey Union will take place in Mohegan Sun’s Earth Ballroom on April 13. Guests will enjoy tastes of high end whiskey, Scotch, bourbon and rye, along with specialty craft cocktails, while chatting with whiskey experts and distillery representatives about their particular style of whiskey. Enjoy live music by Locals Live 2023 finalist, The Rakes, with food from Bears Smokehouse and NoRA Cupcake Company. A portion of ticket proceeds will go to support the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut.
Opici Family Distributing of Connecticut will host a Spring Portfolio Tasting for accounts and trade guests. The Connecticut division carries wines and spirits from around the world representing over 300 producers and 1,600 different types of fine wine and spirits. This is trade only event. The CT Brewers Guild will host its sixth-annual CT Craft Beer Fest at Hartford’s Connecticut Convention Center on April 20, 2024. Guests will enjoy pours from more than 60 craft breweries throughout the afternoon, beginning with a VIP session at 1:30 PM. All proceeds will benefit the CT Brewers Guild to help further the goals of the craft beer movement in Connecticut.
The 13th annual Rising Pint Brewfest returns to Rentschler Field on May 11, with beer from more than 60 craft breweries on tap for guests, along with eats from popular food truck vendors, including Spot on Tacos, Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ, The Big Cheese, Hop Häus, Randy’s Wooster Street Pizza Shop, Big Enzo’s BBQ, Big Bad Wolf, Sno ‘N’ Dough and Holy Smokez BBQ. Bands Booyah and 7 Below will play live music throughout the event. Proceeds will benefit The Reach Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to providing assistance to children who are in need, physically, socially and financially through programs, advocacy and more. The Thread City Hop Fest, an annual food and craft beer tasting event, will take place on at Jillson Square in Willimantic on May 19, 2024. Attendees will enjoy samples from more than 70 breweries from throughout New England. This event is rain or shine. Organized by the Willimantic Brewing Company on behalf of Willimantic Renaissance, Inc., proceeds from the Hop Fest benefit more than 15 charities including The No Freeze Project, Willimantic Renaissance, Inc. and Vulturetown Arts. Event is 21+. No children or pets allowed.
New Hartford’s Ski Sundown will host the 13th-annual Litchfield Hills Brewfest on June 8, 2024. A variety of local craft beers, wines, ciders and spirits will be available for tasting along with eats from food truck vendors. Guests will also have the opportunity to win prizes through silent auctions and raffles. Sponsored by Torrington Savings Bank and Nejaime’s Fine Wine & Spirits, event proceeds will benefit St. Maron Church, Brooker Memorial and Summit Adaptive Sports.
The RI Home Show is back for its 74th year and in celebration the show is adding a new experience to the event, in partnership with the Rhode Island Brewers Guild: the House of Brews. Attendees of the RI Home Show, taking place at the Convention Center April 4th to the 7th, will get the chance to enjoy complimentary samples of local beers from breweries within the Guild. The Rhode Island Brewers Guild is the official brewery association in Rhode Island, existing to support and promote Rhode Island Craft Breweries. The Guild was established in 2013 with five founding breweries and brewpubs. As of today, it serves approximately 36 participating Rhode Island breweries.
The Newport Beer Festival will return to Fort Adams for its 12th year on April 20. The event will showcase beer from approximately 40 craft breweries with local, live music performed throughout the afternoon and food available for purchase. Event is 21+, rain or shine. Proceeds will benefit the Rhode Island Brewers Guild.
Wine Wizards will host a Spring Portfolio Tasting at its Rumford warehouse. Guests will have the opportunity to taste imported wine and spirits from Wine Wizards’ latest portfolio and discuss selections with visiting suppliers and the Wine Wizards team. The 53rd annual Newport International Boat Show, presented by Bank Newport, will take place Sept. 12-15, 2024. Hosted at the Newport Yachting Center, the annual event is a celebration of the nautical lifestyle, with the exhibition of powerboats and sailboats drawing tens of thousands of shoppers and spectators to Newport each year.
